Campo, Colorado, May 31, 2010. The day was not expected to be anything extraordinary and few storm chasers ventured out. Those that did and found themselves in southeastern Colorado and the Oklahoma panhandle were treated to one heck of a show. One of six that day, the Campo tornado became infamous for its long life and for how extraordinarily picturesque it was. I was able to document this twister from its start as a funnel through to its end. It was on the ground for 20+ minutes and moving at less than 10mph in open ranchland – a long time and slow pace that allowed me to captured hundreds of pictures it.

My name is Tony and I am a Denver native, a proud veteran of the United States Navy, an IT manager, a weather geek and of course a photographer. My interest in photography started in high school and was spurred on by my parents generously giving me my first SLR for Christmas one year. That Canon AE-1 Program took an awful lot of pictures as I dabbled in my then-new hobby. Since then, a camera has never been far from my side. A Canon EOS 620 accompanied me to the Persian Gulf and many other locations domestic and abroad when I was in the military.
