These mountain residents prefer high altitudes and rocky slopes for their homes. Yellow Bellied Marmots can be found across many parts of the western United States and southern Canada. Much of their life is spent in their burrows. This particular marmot was enjoying the early morning sun near the top of the 12,183 foot high Trail Ridge Road in Rocky Mountain National Park.
My name is Tony and I am a Denver native, a proud veteran of the United States Navy, an IT manager, a weather geek and of course a photographer. My interest in photography started in high school and was spurred on by my parents generously giving me my first SLR for Christmas one year.
